Stop Asian Hate, but don’t compare.

The Asian American community is living in fear and pain since the beginning of the covid-19 pandemic. This is as a result of the surged hate and violent attacks they are experiencing. Crimes targeting Asian Americans have risen dramatically since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic. Stop AAPI Hate, a coalition that tracks incidents of violence and harassment against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in the U.S., reported nearly 3,800 instances of discrimination against Asians in the past year. There has been a marked rise in anti-Asian violence across the United States, an issue that once again rattled a community on edge after the recent mass shooting deaths of eight people at spas in the Atlanta area, six of whom were Asian women. Numerous Asian women have been killed in shootings at three Atlanta-area massage parlors.

Police have arrested suspect Robert Aaron Long in connection with all three shootings. During the pandemic period, over four thousand racism reports have been recorded, mostly against Asians. The lives lost due to these hates have to stop, and we can stop it.

In the quest to stop the Hate, we must understand that there is a vast difference between the African American issues and the American Asian issues. Through the various anti-Asian Hate, it is evident that a large part of the public ignores the difference. To some people, such…
